Spotlight Interview with Sylvester Goettlicher, Director Sales and Product & Josina Formann, Head of Media-Production at Screens GmbH

What do you hope attendees will gain at your webinar?

    1. After the webinar, attendees will have a good understanding of how and to what extent third-party applications such as Youtube, Spotify or Amazon are implemented in today’s infotainment systems and compare them with OEMs that offer these functions independently. Furthermore, we will give the attendees insights into the currently implemented third-party operating systems and discuss whether and to what extent these developments affect the independence of OEMs. Afterwards, we give an outlook into the future.

What discussions do you look forward to having with the attendees?

    1. We are really interested in hearing the attendees’ assessments and discussing what the infotainment-systems of the future will look like. We are convinced that infotainment systems will become more and more important in the purchase decision of a vehicle and we are just at the beginning of the developments. The direction will be set by the customers and we will only see in the near future where the developments will ultimately go.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

    1. Josina: Me and my team are responsible for the entire content production of the infotainment database screens. In the meantime, we film and process almost 30 vehicles a year, and we do this worldwide. As you can imagine, it’s a very complex coordination job, and on top of that you have a high time pressure to get everything done on time. It is this mix of complexity, coordination and the feeling of adding another vehicle to the database on time that I enjoy most about my role.
    2. Sylvester: I am one of the first employees at screens and have been involved with the product and the company from the very beginning. So I identify with screens more than a regular job and it makes me very proud to continue to improve the product and bring it to the world.

How did you get into the industry?

    1. Screens is a subsidiary of Deutsche Automotive that has been in the field of infotainment development since 2014. About four years ago, the CEO of Deutsche Automotive had a conversation with a customer over lunch about the topic of competitive analysis and came up with the idea of digitalizing this process and thus simplifying and accelerating it. In the meantime, screens has become much more than a tool for competitive analysis and serves a wide range of companies worldwide for market intelligence in the field of infotainment systems.

Where is your favourite place in the world and why?

    1. Josina: Being from the far south of Germany (Allgaeu), I love the mountains and hiking. I often visit my family and friends back home and then spend time with them and enjoy the wonderful views and the beautiful cows.
    2. Sylvester: Apart from family and friends at home, I love to discover new places. Basically I’m enthusiastic about nature, of course, but I can also get excited about living cities. To name a specific place, I would say that I really liked Shanghai’s mix of Eastern and Western culture.

I look forward to hearing what the biggest challenges are for them in meeting changing customers expectations. Especially from a systems’ point of view. I’m positive that an Integrated Finance system can alleviate some of those pain points.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The opportunity to engage with people who are on the front line of change. How they experience the evolution in their industry in their day-to-day work and what their strategies are to embrace that change and be successful in the future. It’s very rewarding to jointly explore how we can support and become part of their strategy for future success.

How did you get into the industry?

Honestly? Via pregnant women. *laughs*. Let me explain. When I was recently graduated, I had the opportunity to temporarily replace someone in the Lexus Europe marketing team who was on maternity leave. 2 years later, this experience at Lexus Europe was the deciding factor for being offered a temporary job at Toyota Financial Services Europe. Again, to replace someone who was on maternity leave. After 8 years at TFSE, I joined Sofico, where I started on a temporary contract, to replace someone in their marketing team who was on maternity leave.

Where is your favourite place in the world and why?

My home city of Ghent, in Belgium. I was born there but raised in the countryside. I spent several years abroad, living in the US, Greece, Germany and the UK and when returning to live in Ghent, I’m always struck by it’s architectural beauty and it’s lively atmosphere, maybe even more so than if I had lived there all my life.

It will be interesting to hear different perceptions and debunk any myths or concerns the audience may have. We are looking forward to utilising our combined experience to support the audience in their future trial design and patient recruitment decision making processes. Interview with Luís Coelho – Spotlight Interview

What do you hope attendees will gain from this webinar?

We will cover several themes relating to medical devices refurbishment: from regulatory issues regarding process through to the minor vs major changes that could lead to engaging in a new certification process, or not, as well as specific activities like user experience design (UxD). These are hurdles that all manufacturers face, so we hope that we can help attendees succeed in overcoming them in the best way possible by sharing our own experiences.

What topics are you looking forward to discussing with attendees?

We’ve identified some issues with the topic of Medical Devices refurbishment, or Medical Devices updates, but the attendees are bound to bring the difficulties they’ve personally faced when refurbishing medical devices to the table! We love a good challenge, so we’re looking forward to being tested during the webinar!

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The people I meet on the job, the new technologies I work with, new experiences, and the fact that every day is different! Regardless of the project we’re working on, there’s always some new technology that’s involved, or some new obstacle to overcome.

How did you get into the medical devices industry?

I was in another company in a similar role, although more focused on the industrial market. So when an opportunity emerged to work in a new market at Critical Software, I dove in and haven’t looked back!

Lastly, where is your favourite place in the world – and why?

At the moment, anywhere but home! 😊 With the pandemic, we’ve spent lots of time at home, so I’m just happy to be anywhere but within the same four walls! I don’t have a favourite place so to speak. I always like to learn about new cultures, new places. I can go to the beach or to the mountains, or to a restaurant or a gym, and be happy to be there.

Spotlight Interview with Steve Sokic, Group Head of Private Wealth at IQ-EQ

Steve Sokic, Group Head of Private Wealth at IQ-EQ

What do you hope attendees will gain at your webinar?

Trusts and foundations have been around for many years, but the last year was unlike most. At the same time, our fiduciary industry has changed so much during my 27+ year career in this space, as have the dynamics of wealth generally, especially over the past several years. I hope that attendees will take away key messages that marry those two observations and be able to apply them in their day-to-day stewardship of clients worldwide.

What discussions do you look forward to having with the attendees?

We trust and foundation providers are in a niche area of financial services, but we also have many non-financial, EQ-type aspects of our day jobs. I genuinely enjoy the mixing of those two attributes and discussions like this one are key in doing our bit to drive and shape our industry well into the future. This is particularly important given the massive levels of wealth to be transferred between generations over the next decade.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Enjoyment of my role is derived from three main perspectives; namely, having the privilege to steward and have an impact on: (1) many families’ wealth legacy around the world, (2) our wealth structuring industry in the current and next phase of its evolution, and (3) my trusted colleagues within one of the very best and most enjoyable organisations in the world.

How did you get into the industry?

I started as an accountant at Deloitte in Canada in the early 1990s, as part of a very small group focusing on private client wealth structuring. This quickly evolved into cross-border families and investments, which – to cut a long story short – really widened my perspective and impact on wealth preservation globally, in terms of clients, jurisdictions, wealth governance and structures, along with a wonderfully diverse group of colleagues throughout the world.

Where is your favourite place in the world and why?

I have two. I’m passionate about my family and very proud of my heritage, so my favourite places in the world link the two together: Canada and Croatia.

Spotlight Interview with Caitlyn Clauss from Almac Clinical Services

Caitlyn Clauss, Supply Chain Solutions Manager

  1. Why did you decide to do a webinar with us?

Clinical trials have become increasingly complex in design as investigational products have become more sophisticated, leading sponsors to face increased manufacturing costs, tighter timelines, and limited drug supply. With the estimated cost to bring a new product to market on the rise, the ability to make informed and accurate supply chain decisions is critical as supply chain managers face pressure to conserve drug product and reduce overall IMP costs. As innovators of clinical supply chain management for over 30 years, Almac Clinical Services is committed to helping sponsors develop effective, end-to-end supply chain strategies with the support of technology-based forecasting solutions. In this webinar, we look forward to sharing our expertise with attendees who are interested in leveraging forecasting tools to create optimized, efficient, cost-effective and patient-focused clinical supply chains.

  1. What will the audience gain from attending your webinar?

From initial study planning through study close-out and drug reconciliation, effective supply chain management and forecasting is valuable in delivering a successful clinical trial. Clinical supply chain forecasting methods range from manual spreadsheet calculations to sophisticated simulation technology that utilizes predictive modeling. However, the ultimate goal of every forecasting system is to analyze study parameters and enrollment projections in order to predict supply demand throughout the entire clinical development lifecycle. By harnessing a technology-based approach to demand forecasting, sponsors are able to benefit from increased visibility over their supply chain in order to proactively monitor, manage and align production planning and distribution activity to meet patient demand. By attending our webinar, attendees will gain insight into the fundamentals of forecasting and ways forecasting can optimize clinical supply chain strategies.

  1. What discussions do you look forward to having with the attendees?

The norms of the clinical landscape have shifted considerably over the past few years – targeted therapies, dynamic, study designs, and post-COVID logistical constraints to name a few.  As sponsors and their core vendors consider current study strategies, we welcome the dialogue around how supply-chain risk is being managed and the changes to standard process that sponsors have incorporated in response to patient demands.

SPOTLIGHT INTERVIEW WITH SEAN ADAMS, RF ENGINEER & MIKE SCHWEYER, PRODUCT LINE MANAGER, FILTERS & INTEGRATED FILTER ASSEMBLIES AT SMITHS INTERCONNECT

What is your role in Smiths Interconnect?

SEAN: I am an RF Engineer specializing in cavity, waveguide, and printed filter technologies.

MIKE: I am the Product Line Manager for Filters and Integrated Filter Assemblies.

How will your role in Smiths interconnect help with this webinar?

SEAN: As an RF engineer who has learned from some of the best and brightest in the field, I’ve been exposed to many different topologies of filters. I’ve been lucky enough to work for people who push for better, newer, and sometimes more challenging solutions.  This has been beneficial as I’ve always prided myself on being up to date with all the latest and trailblazing technologies. I hope to pass along some of this knowledge in the webinar.

MIKE: One of my responsibilities with my role is to coordinate the strategy for the product line. The feedback on the market and voice of customer provides guidance on areas of focus with the filter technology investment. One of the webinar’s objective will be to present some of the solutions used to support requirements with these technologies.

How does your past experience influence your decision-making in your current role?

SEAN: I’ve been in the RF filter industry for about 16 years, and I’ve been able to hold multiple positions in different areas of the business. In my early years, I started working on repairs, then eventually made my way into engineering.  These early years allowed me to gain knowledge quickly on how things were made, tuned, and tested.  I’ve been able to see many different designs, technologies, and strategies over my 16 years, and it has enabled me to greatly reduce the time to market of a design from the quote stage to full-scale production.

MIKE: I have been in the RF & Microwave business for over 25 years. I have learned that technological advances can drive new market segments and market demand drives new technologies.  Partnering with leading-edge organizations is key to bring new technology to life.

What will the audience gain from attending this webinar?

SEAN: I’m confident the audience will walk away from this webinar with a deeper understanding of how to select the most suitable  filter topologies and technologies for their respective solution. Whether it is a high power filter or a filter smaller than pocket change, there is always a solution to fit the customer’s specifications.  We also intend to address current trends in the filter industry  and how Smiths Interconnect is addressing these trends.

MIKE: A broad overview of the potential solutions for RF and Microwave Filter applications, and the possible solutions available for a wide array of technologies. I will present the different types of filter designs available, comparing the advantages each topology provides to certain requirements, such as power, frequency and size for examples.

Please join Sean Adams & Mike Schweyer on a webinar entitled Understanding which RF Filter Technology works best for your next module design on Tuesday, May 25th at 11am EST / 5pm CET
