Welcome to the August newsletter, I hope wherever you are in the world the sun is shining bright in the sky, its glorious here in London city. I will soon be jetting off to Majorca for an adventure holiday kayaking, rock climbing, hiking and grooving my way round the island. Before I go I still have time for plenty of events and I’m going to tell you about some of them now.
Each summer during August and September the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace open to the public for eight weeks. As part of the tour of the Palace, visitors also enjoy a special exhibition in one of the State Rooms. Previous exhibitions have included: Her Majesty’s evening dresses and personal jewellery, Her Majesty’s Coronation gown, Her Majesty’s wedding dress, and the Ballroom set up for a State Banquet.
Visitors arrive at the Visitor Entrance on Buckingham Palace Road, where they are welcomed by members of the Warden team and collect a complimentary audio tour. After visiting the nineteen State Rooms and the special exhibition, they walk out into the Palace garden where they can buy a souvenir of their visit from the shop. Before leaving, visitors can enjoy a walk along the south side of the Palace garden, past the famous lake.

Pilots fly individually against the clock and have to complete tight turns through a slalom course consisting of pylons.
The races are held mainly over water near cities, but are also held at airfields or natural wonders. They are accompanied by a supporting program of show flights. The events attract large crowds and are broadcast; both live and taped across the globe. At each venue, the top eight places earn World Championship points. The air racer with the most points at the end of the Championship becomes Red Bull Air Race World Champion.
There are now just weeks to go until the Red Bull Air Race touches down in Ascot once again, last year nearly 60,000 fans attended the event. The race takes place between 15–16 August, more information here: http://www.redbullairrace.com/ – maybe see you there!
