1. What do you hope attendees will gain at your webinar?

I hope to impress on the audience how similar all migration studies are and how truly important they are in making sure a material is safe for its intended use. That holds whether the material is used in food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging or medical devices.

2. What discussions do you look forward to having with the attendees?

I look forward to hearing their thoughts on the topics and expect to have some interesting discussions on the challenge studies for olefins and I’m sure the topic of the analytical evaluation threshold (AET) will come up.

3. What do you enjoy most about your role?

I get to interact with such a wide variety of companies and their technical experts in any number of fields. There is never a day that goes by that I don’t learn something from one of them.

4. How did you get into the industry?

I was working on my Ph.D. thesis research and was having some problems with the GC/MS I had. The principal scientist at Aspen Research at the time (24 years ago) was kind enough to offer me some instrument time and that was the start (after my thesis and a post doc) with Aspen.

5. Where is your favourite place in the world and why?

I would say it probably has to be in the Rocky Mountains on the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway. That is a road that goes over the Beartooth Mountains near Red Lodge MT and drops into Yellowstone Park. The vistas are just phenomenal.
