Everyone going online is the current megatrend. Lockdowns, travel restrictions, and social distancing means that working from home and learning online has become the new norm for many people. Microsoft Teams, for example, reported a huge uptick of 12 million new daily users in just one week. Video will be everywhere and for everyone, especially for students receiving online-education. In Italy, Telecom Italia CEO told Bloomberg that Internet traffic rose 70% over its network during a lockdown.
During rush hours, the number of peak concurrent requests and connected terminals is tripled. With more consumption of video, that brings a huge bandwidth pressure on networks. To reduce concurrent conflicts and network latencies, operators increasingly need to upgrade to gigabit access and install advanced CPEs with Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi Mesh capabilities at home.
The increasing demand from customers are compelling operators to provide higher network bandwidth, including by launching hyper bandwidth packages and upgrading CPEs such as 10G PON ONTs and G.fast CPEs. Therefore, operators are moving to next- generation technologies and building resilient networks with hyper bandwidth and cloud integration.
As a leading FBB vendor, ZTE helps global operators achieve competitiveness and success. ZTE’s TITAN platform is based on high-end router architecture, and it is a fully distributed optical flagship platform supporting GPON/10G PON/50G PON. ZTE also provide the industry's first Combo PON solution, which realizes the cost-effective, smooth evolution of gigabit networks. The combo PON solution was put into commercial use one year ahead of other similar products on the market. We offer advanced and reliable CPEs. Our Mesh Wi-Fi solutions achieve seamless gigabit coverage in the home.
The uncertain future is a global challenge. ZTE has focused more on technology innovation and operators’ core needs including network deployment, operation and maintenance. ZTE is willing to cooperate deeply with all operators and industrial partners to provide better connectivity for every customer.
