Bridging The Gap Between NPD and Sustainability
Supply chain performance and costs are an increasing factor in successful delivery of a brand to customers. The supply chain impacts sustainability, in terms of trucks, transport and damage, it impacts waste and it can mean the difference between success and failure (profit & loss) for many products.
For over 23 years James Ross Consulting has worked with global clients to rectify and change pallet loading, shipper sizing and pack design to drive cost savings. One question always arises - 'so how did they come up with this pack?'
The confirmation of secondary / tertiary packaging, pallet design and subsequent handling through the supply chain has often been a 'Cinderella' activity, last to be considered. Current processes leave no trace as to why a pallet or pack is how it is - maybe a legacy of old equipment (an un-challenged constraint), a design generated under time pressure by an engineer remote from the NPD process, or simply a failure to understand actual, end to end supply chain needs. Whatever the reason, many pallets under-utilize the volume / weight available to them, losing profit for the manufacturer and putting more trucks on the road to deliver inefficient loads.
This webinar will draw on James Ross Consulting's purpose-built technologies to give you the tools and information you need to take charge of your packaging. You will learn how to implement optimization processes at the beginning of the NPD process, putting you in control of your packaging decision making, product life-cycle and logistics costs in a way that has never been done before. You will also learn how to apply these methods to existing products and how to communicate and share your results across different teams to inform collaboration, sustainability and business decisions.
Using examples, this webinar will examine the existing challenges to sustainability in packaging and product development today. These examples will be run using James Ross Consulting's PackDevPro software to showcase the various metrics that can be allocated to the decision driving process at each stage gate.
Join our webinar to find out how you can take control of your sustainability and packaging costs by using our, 'right-design first time' solutions to get the best result.
