How to Design Sustainability into Rigid Packaging
TricorBraun is a full service Design, Development and Rigid Packaging Supplier. We are quickly approaching $1 billion in sales. Our packages are found in all parts of the rigid packaging industry. These plastics and glass containers are sold to pharma, food, wine, personal care, chemical and industrial applications. We are not a manufacturer, rather we outsource this portion of the process. This very unique position and the breadth of our organizational experience and knowledge allows for us to evaluate all materials, manufacturing platforms and trends, with an unbiased eye, leading to the best choices for our customers.
These best choices apply to sustainability as well. True sustainability needs to be designed into a package from the beginning and built through the entire supply chain. This talk will be on the design and the early choices in a package's life that allow for a more sustainable package.
We will look at a case study on Design for Sustainability to show how some small changes can have a big impact. Where sustainable packaging is today and where it could be headed. As well as cover some common misconceptions as it applies to sustainable packaging.
