How simulation is optimizing the design process to lower LCOE
The global offshore wind market grew 30% each year from 2010 – 2018, thanks to widespread technology adoption in Europe. Today’s offshore wind market is not fulfilling it’s potential, with the International Energy Agency concluding that the sector must accelerate growth considerably to meet desired sustainable development scenarios. One of the key challenges in achieving global deployment is lowering LCOE to a level that competes with fossil fuels. While there are many contributing factors to a high LCOE, smart design and fabrication have a significant role to play.
In this webinar, you’ll hear about the collaboration between Lamprell and Akselos to fully optimize the end to end design process of each of the components in a wind turbine through constructible designs and structural digital twins. The partners aim to achieve a reduction in CAPEX, improved future design and optimized operations through Risk Based Inspection when the turbines / foundations are operational.
You’ll hear about the emerging technology that makes the holistic design of large structural and mechanical assets possible, and the results of using a digital twin in the design of a turbine foundation for one of Lamprell’s customers. In addition, attendees will also learn lessons from Lamprell’s business-wide digitalization strategy, and other projects that are being transformed in partnership with Akselos.
Register now to hear how digital twins applied at the design stage will lower LCOE for offshore wind.
