Ophthalmic diseases such as Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Glaucoma are potentially chronic conditions, requiring life-long medical therapy. Failure by the patient to adhere to a proper treatment regimen may lead to disease progression and visual loss, in addition to all of the consequences around quality of life and capacity to work.
Poor compliance is widespread and is often due to a combination of factors, including drops that sting and the difficulty of applying drops accurately, especially for older patients. Preservatives play a prominent role in this unpleasant experience.
And, of course, no one wants compromise when it comes to microbiological integrity.
This webinar presents a review of the available options in Eye Care and discusses future trends, in particular preservatives, debatable additives, and progressive initiatives such as ‘connected Eye Care’, a technology that is gaining even more traction during the pandemic.
