Strategies for maintaining product integrity with cost-effective cold chain solutions
With governments putting pressure on product prices, patents of branded pharmaceuticals expiring, the volumes of generics increasing, the regulatory environment becoming more complex and new, new biological derived medications requiring better control of the cold chain, pharmaceutical manufacturers are forced to rethink their supply chain models and are looking at their logistics partners to provide them with innovative solutions.
An end-to-end temperature controlled transportation solution has to address many aspects and challenges: the quality and integrity of the product, the overall cost, flexibility for volumes and schedules, reusability, capacity availability, reliability and quality of the used equipment, contingency planning, pro-active monitoring and intervention, visibility and custodial control end-to-end.
In this case study driven presentation, we will give an in-depth understanding on how some companies have collaborated with FedEx to tackle these challenges and how we have managed to jointly implement a customized controlled room transportation solution in an integrator's environment.
