Assessing market and financial trends and challenges brought by the renewable energy sources

LATAM Renewable Energy Forum is taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 14-16th of March 2018.The event will bring together the market leaders in the solar and wind industries, auction winners, finance and storage experts, as well as technology providers, regulators, developers and industry bodies in the Argentinian, LatAm and international renewables sector.

With the support of our advisory board we have developed a webinar to give you a taster of the forum. From the regional update on the power mix to financial opportunities, Renovar, transmission and grid issues - this 1 hour panel discussion broadcasted live on 19th February will aim to cover the most pressing issues facing the market.

Latin America is poised to take on a prominent role on climate change and renewable energy in the global arena at the moment. Rapid spread of renewable energy in the region has fuelled hope of a global transition to a low-carbon economy. Growth of renewables in Latin America is forecast to be fuelled by steady development of new projects and increased financial engagement by key players. Funding of these projects is crucial, providing unique opportunities for overseas investors to enter the market or expand market share.

Some of the questions we will discuss during this panel include:

Regional update:
• Current LatAm power mix and the future of its electricity grid - how renewables fit into the energy market as a whole
• Placing LatAm clean energy in a global context

The renewable energy auction programme of Argentina (RenovAr):
• Assessing the deliverables and scope for future auctions
• How are the winning projects proceeding?
• How many projects/GW are being planned to be auctioned?

Investment climate:
• What types of financing are developers most likely to access for projects?
• Do renewable energy projects generate adequate return on investment?
• Where will the future investor come from?

Grid and congestion:
• Grid infrastructure and its ability to absorb future clean energy capacity
• What is the transmission capacity now and how does it need to expand?
• What is the congestion like in the region?

Join us to get up-to-speed with the current affairs, meet our expert panel speakers and pose your questions during the broadcast.
