David Hartell has extensive onshore and offshore oil and gas developments experience including facilities engineering, construction, installation, project management, and production operations. His developments experience ranged from onshore remote locations to offshore deepwater locations. He has been responsible for managing subsurface asset, drilling and completion, and production operations teams. He has developed Integrated Intelligent Operations (IIO) strategies for remote production facilities in Northwest Australia and the South Atlantic. He has prepared Reliability, Operability, and Maintainability focused strategies for remote monitoring and diagnostics, data analytics, and integrated production management systems across subsurface assets, subsea facilities, and surface facilities.

Jaco Fok,

Chief Innovation, OMV Petrom

Jaco is Chief Innovation at OMV Petrom, where he is driving the change towards a more innovative and digitally dextrous company with a healthy portfolio of new business options. He was brought into Shell in 2012 to help make the transition towards a more Open Innovation approach. Next to re-invigorating the already successful departments GameChanger (Radical early stage innovation) and External Technology Coordination (University collaborations), Jaco has set up internal innovation networks and designed an innovation learning program to drive culture change. Most remarkable was building Shell TechWorks, a new-to-the-industry high tech engineering outfit that maximizes the use of external technologies in a ‘skunkworks’ approach for the lean and rapid development of new solutions for Shell.

Patrick von Pattay,

Head of Digital Strategy 4.0 Project, Wintershall

Internationally experienced Programme Manager in oil and gas industry, Patrick is skilled in managing complex projects in production enhancement and field development. Strong reputation of delivering sustainable and commercially valuable solutions, leveraging new technologies, innovative working approaches and best practice solutions. Patrick combines technical and operational expertise including joint venture experience to build, inspire and manage cross-functional multicultural teams. He held various positions in R&D, business consulting, oilfield services and with an Operator, currently heading Wintershall’s Digital Strategy Project.

Sheikh Ahmad Rabily bin Sheikh Abdul Rahman,

Head of Program and Change Management, Petronas

Sheikh Ahmad Rabily bin Sheikh Abdul Rahman has 18 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry in both downstream and upstream which has equipped him with a strong grasp of the dynamics of the business.
With his passion on digital, plus a mixture of experience, he is now being entrusted to lead the change intervention plan for Maintenance Excellence initiatives which include various range of Data Driven Maintenance initiatives. He has also led the development of the framework enhancement on Operations Excellence Management System (OEMS) to further strengthen the organization’s position as a world class operator. The new system has now been embraced as one of the most significant sources of reference in guiding the organization towards the digitisation journey.


Christopher Rivinus

Head of Business Systems & Information, Tullow Oil

Chris Rivinus is a published author and lecturer on the relationship between organisational culture and IT change management programmes. He is currently leading Tullow Oil's digital transformation programme. He was also recently seconded part time into EY's Arc programme which is dedicated to help EY better leverage digital tools and methods to serve their customers. He has served in IT leadership roles for over 20 years in Civil Engineering, Energy, Education and Medical Technology and is Non-Executive Director for 2 start-up organisations that provide compliance and cyber security-related services.
