Governance, Design and Technologies for Smart Grid/Smart Meter Field Deployments
Following many public, political and industry discussions, the success of Smart Grid deployments is dependent on two major issues from an energy user perspective:
- Secure and steady electricity supply must not be negatively affected by smart grid projects
- Trust that the new technology guarantees the highest level of data security and transparency
The first part of the webinar will focus on the importance of consistent governance of all smart grid related implementations. We will discuss and clarify the roles of different players within implementations. In particular, we’ll highlight the critical role played by the owners of customer touch points in fulfilling security and privacy needs. Special attention will be paid to the complexity of managing security and data privacy with an end-to-end approach in a multiple player environment.
Part two of the webinar will demonstrate how holistic design and state-of-the art technology help to heighten security and privacy control and safeguard the entire ecosystem. We’ll explore our experiences in telecom, banking and personal identification that share a similar need for heightened security and privacy. And we’ll demonstrate how future energy related smart technologies will be based on the trusted security processes, protocols and governance that have already been proven in these industries
