Improving everyday life with new highly transparent materials for peelable food packaging
Approximately 30% of the world’s food production is lost or wasted every year. A large share of those losses occurs between ‘farm and fork’ and results from a combination of poor food packaging, storage, transportation conditions and logistics. Borealis strives to tackle those challenges with high performing convenience packaging solutions that are safe, economically efficient and sustainable.
In today’s fast-paced society ready-to-go packaged snacks and meals are an established and growing feature of daily life. Increased convenience through easy hands-only opening is a fundamental consumer demand. Difficulty in opening packaging is a chief consumer complaint and a significant cause of brand switching. Additionally, optics and haptics heavily influence the product choice. Consequently, the webinar will give insights into the key success factors in food packaging of the future.
Besides other criteria, high transparency is one of the important features. It also provides a key product differentiator and competitive advantage which can promote the desired customer loyalty. This has led to the development of new Borpeel and Steripeel film grades that reply to those latest trends.
