How to shift efficiently from a home grown ECM environment to a solution based on standard products
More and more large companies within the life sciences industry are struggling with antiquated, often internally developed Enterprise Content Management Systems. The idea of introducing a modern, preferably standardized product specialized for this industry sounds more attractive. However, it is typically an underestimated challenge to accomplish the transition of both: data and business processes into a completely new application.
Companies must undertake this challenge in three different areas. First, they must thoroughly analyze the existing data stock and perform an adequate data quality and cleansing process. Second, agree on a procedure and process to transfer and transform millions of document including all associated control and index information allowing for a smooth transition to the new system over a scheduled weekend. The third and the by far most challenging task is to support the business user in the various functional areas to understand and adapt to the new system for their business processes.
The webinar will give a comprehensive overview about how to prepare, perform and finally execute a large scale document management migration in pharma companies. Based on long-term experience in various customer projects with live migrations we will show how to estimate and mitigate risks, identify and avoid obstacles and thus lead a project to success.

In 2005, he specialized in integrated solutions for GxP and publishing systems for pharma. Later he worked as head of competence team LS. Since 2010, he worked in the acquisition of complex ECM- and migration projects for the life sciences.

After completing a degree in electrical engineering at the TU Darmstadt, Peter Bunse worked as a software architect in the field of expert systems. In 1990, he continued his career at Hoechst. Since then, he focussed on ECM solutions for the pharma industry. Peter held a number of management positions at various IT service providers before establishing the life sciences unit at fme AG in 2006.

After graduating from SUNY at Delhi Frank D’Entrone worked for GEC Alstom.He then graduated from Northeastern University in Bostons and accepted a position for a Biotech company entering into the ECM space. He then went on to work for IT services organizations providing ECM consulting services. In 2007 Mr. D'Entrone founded DT Technologies Inc. In 2010 he entered into a joint venture with fme AG.
