Examining case studies for new approaches in combining Ion Exchange Chromatography with Membrane Filtration
Today, cell line titers, yields and protein concentrations are all increasing. Unfortunately this means there are more cell debris and impurities. In biopharmaceuticals, depth filtration for cell harvesting and clarification is essential to manage high biomass and increasing product concentrations in addition to saving costs in production processes.
The presence of Host Cell Protein, DNA, Endotoxins and Viruses present a high potential risk for biopharmaceutical products. Reducing the quantity of these impurities and contaminants earlier in the process is a key requirement for downstream purification processes. Improvement in purification media performance will contribute to achieving these goals. Scalable single use devices provide the flexibility required in process development and manufacturing facilities.
The webinar focuses on new process strategies that include the protection of sterilizing membranes and chromatography columns in addition to the earlier reduction of impurities (HCP, DNA, Endotoxins, Viruses). 3M Purification introduces the Emphaze AEX Hybrid Purifier. An overview of the Emphaze design is presented. Potential benefits are discussed, including column protection, reduction of post-capture impurities, and reduction of downstream polishing chromatography needs.
Data from case studies will prove how Emphaze can reach significant results in reducing HCP, DNA and Viruses.
This webinar is essential for every company and process development scientist who needs to improve his biopharmaceutical process economy.
