Miguel Chavero is OSIsoft's Power and Utilities Industry Principal for EMEA, and has 16 years of experience working directly within the utilities sector, mainly in the Power and Water management industries.
Before joining OSIsoft, Miguel worked at Iberdrola for almost 12 years, where he was the IT Manager in the Monitoring Diagnostic and Simulation Center (CMDS) of Iberdrola in Spain.
The scope of CMDS initially focused on Combined Cycle Power stations and later was expanded to Nuclear, Coal and Cogeneration sites. Miguel led a team responsible for deploying all monitoring and diagnostics applications used on the CMDS and supporting real time data driven initiatives across different business units, while supporting and maintaining Iberdrola's real-time data infrastructure.
The main applications deployed focused on Fleet Management, Operational Excellence and Performance and Efficiency Improvements program among others. Miguel was also responsible for information security in Generation Control Systems, and deployed complex cybersecurity projects worldwide protecting Critical Cyber Assets and leading cross-industry initiatives to support awareness, education and standardization programs.
Since 2008, Mr. Chavero is also CISSP certified.
