Hot-work barriers, localised hydrostatic testing and onsite machining services to enhance shutdown maintenance
By far the most challenging activity for any facility is the planning and execution of shutdown maintenance activities and repairs. With the safety of personnel and asset being the primary consideration for any task, the execution of all repair work demands the use of safe, reliable and efficient equipment operated by experienced and professional technicians. STATS understand the criticality of system outages, and the operators need to meet production and export commitments in conjunction with managing safety obligations, reducing outage costs and complying with environmental requirements.
Learn how to enhance safety while performing hot-work activities by installing verified atmospheric barriers to protect the worksite from potentially flammable or toxic vapours. In-Line Weld Test Tools are quick and easy to install and can also be used to confirm the integrity of the new weld or tie-in by providing a localised hydrostatic or pneumatic strength test. Safe and efficient these tools use only a minimal volume of test medium, this negates the need to flood and pressurise the entire system, particularly beneficial in ‘mature’ systems by decreasing the potential for leakage.
Discover the safety benefits of mechanical pipe connectors to replace the need for welding, significantly reducing the risks associated with hot-work. Quick to install, this solution significantly reduces shutdown costs and duration by eliminating the need for welding equipment, personnel, habitat and NDT inspection.
STATS onsite machining services include pipe cutting and weld prep application, hot tapping, trepanning and flange re-facing to complement our extensive range of time-saving Process Plant Solutions. This single source supply minimises lines of communication and limits personnel and accommodation requirements, reducing expenditure and downtime.
STATS offer multi-disciplined and competent field support for worldwide deployment to support our Process Plant Solutions.
Presented by
Scott Garner,
Business Development Manager
Scott Garner joined STATS in 2007 first serving as an Asset Rental Coordinator, in the Process Plant Solutions business stream. This role involved liaising with clients to offer full turnkey turnaround services and isolation solutions, both onshore and offshore in the North Sea and European sectors. Scott has had hands-on field experience on a number of high profile turnaround projects providing localised hydrostatic testing, mechanical connection and onsite machining services. His knowledge of the oil and gas industry provides him with a firm basis for his current position as Business Development Manager.
Sandy Peter,
Process Plant Solutions Manager
Sandy is the Business Stream Manager for the Process Plant Solutions (PPS) division of STATS Group; supplying hot-work barriers, localised hydrostatic testing and onsite machining services that support shutdowns, planned and unplanned maintenance and outages.
After a decade working on various North Sea installations, Sandy joined STATS Group in 2002 as Workshop Supervisor and progressed into a technical sales role for STATS range of standard products.
In 2009 the standard product range was separated out from the mainstream isolation and intervention services and the PPS business stream was created. The restructure assigned Sandy both the responsibility and P&L accountability for the entire range of STATS standard products and services. Sandy now heads up a growing team which focuses entirely on the supply and support of the PPS product range.
