An introduction to balancing grid investment and cyber protection
Cyber threats to the energy industry remain high. According to the US Department of Homeland Security’s Industrial Control Systems Computer Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT), 32% of all cyber security incidents reported and investigated in the first half of 2014 were related to this domain. At the same time, investment in your electrical grid is crucial to maintain energy availability, especially in the face of growing demand. But with growing cyber security concerns, how can you balance those investments for today and tomorrow?
This introductory webinar begins by describing common cyber security terminology and practices, then moves to current and forthcoming energy industry regulations. It will help you strengthen your understanding about the likely impacts to maintaining your organisation’s energy availability.
The discussion will then shift to the tricky balance of investments in electrical reinforcement compared to those for cyber security, and how working smarter can help establish a business case for cyber security and achieve both goals: security and availability.
With Schneider Electric’s expertise in both electrical networks and cyber security, our industry professionals can help you assemble the pieces of this complex puzzle. Register now for this new webinar.
