Five practical strategies to reducing energy losses on the electrical distribution grid
Since October 2012, the EU has put in place the new Energy Efficiency regulatory measure which has a direct impact on how utilities deliver energy efficient network operations. Despite Europe’s relatively low level of grid losses (averaging around 4% up to 30%), these losses represent a considerable financial waste of up to 10 billion Euros every year.
This webinar will focus on two different approaches to improving the efficiency of utilities’ operations. The initial focus is on the actual physical grid, a huge untapped source of energy efficiency. We’ll highlight a number of modernization solutions to cut losses at different levels of the network - in substations and on feeders – thanks to all the field devices enabling utilities to get a better insight into power flows and as such improve efficiency.
Utilities also need to think out of the box as there is no better way to save kWh than by not producing them in the first place. Therefore, if less bulk capacity is generated and Distributed Energy Resources can been intelligently integrated, grid operations and business models will also subsequently change.
Join Schneider Electric’s Xavier Moreau to find out more about solutions to reduce network losses on September 24.
